  2. I would like to compliment your employee, Perla; at your Santa Maria CA outlet. I paid using my EBT card, bringing no cash with me. I was short $0.16 which Perla undoubtedly paid herself. Now, Perla has worked for you for YEARS. And, I’ve been your customer for 25? Years. perla… Is the best I’ve seen. Always pretty and well groomed, sweet and pleasant. My opinion… This girl is a keeper! Worthy of a raise or promotion.

  3. I have been going to Grocery Outlet on 122nd in Portland OR since it opened. They had really nice people, they were helpful and happy. Until recently. They got new owners and all the people either got fired or quit. Now every employee is snotty and rude. They stand in front of you and will not move. If you dare to ask a question, they act as if you’re stupid.

  4. I have been happily shopping at grocery outlet for years. Today I had a very unsettling experience the Hayward Grocery Outlet on Vernon Street+ B Street. At approximately 8:30 a.m. on May 9th 2017 I entered the grocery outlet with my insulated shopping bag and a small pack on my back that is my purse. After a few seconds I was approached from behind and was told by a woman ,who later identified herself as the store owner, in a very monotone voice that backpacks were not allowed. I’ve explained my pack was my purse. And offered her to look inside before and after my shopping. The owner then rolled her eyes and told me both my backpack and my insulated bag we’re not allowed and would need to be checked in a very demeaning way. I grew unsettled for I had been in the store many with the same bags. Honestly I think the owner thought I was a younger girl due to my size, dress and being African-American. With great reluctance I honored her wishes and did my shopping. When at the checkout stand, I was talking to the checkout Clerk I have seen there often, about the incident. Once again this person claiming to be the owner continue to harass me about the situation. I then asked her to stop talking to me, at this time she proceeded to kick me out of the store throwing my groceries into my basket. As she threw my things into the basket she told me anyone who was so upset about a backpack must be stealing. I feel this incident happened because of my stature and race. It is one thing to insult me but to insult my integrity… I am a retired deputy sheriff and no the situation could have been handled a lot differently. This Grocery Outlet owner is a hindrance to your business and put your company in very bad light. I will certainly not be shopping at that Grocery Outlet nor will any of my family or friend. I recommend this person who represents your company get some interpersonal Communications training. I certainly would not let her represent anything with my name on it!

  5. I had called the corporate office after complaining about store 125 on Wiliams Rd. in San Jose CA. The lady who took my complaint was nice and understanding. I don’t have any problems with the corporate office, just the store itself. SO I received a call from the owner of this store in SJ. He called my mother’s landline and was asking me why I used this line and not my own. My mother did answer the phone who is also hard of hearing she may not have heard him asking for me. Then he asked me why it took me so long to call and complain, in which I told him I tried earlier but the messages were full and I tried to send a email which I am not sure what happened there. I told him I did talk to him the day before in which he replied it wasn’t him I talked too. I do admit his voice sounded different then the person I talked to earlier. He kept repeating the same questions to me in which I answered over and over again. He said, quote (the pieces don’t add up) in which I said what is that suppose to mean? I did call the store and supposely talked to the store owner in which I asked for and he said he was. Oh yes the owner also said he was working that day and he didn’t get a phone call. Obviously he didn’t hear what I was saying….SOMEONE ELSE WAS IMPERSONATING YOU…. Also , I stated I know you have to return my phone call but why bother when you don’t believe me. He then stated its his store and he cares about his customers and I shouldn’t assume anything. I told him I see him in the store on many occasions, in return he said I should talk to him before calling corporate, but why? Obviously he doesn’t listen, has a attitude and basically called me a liar. He may think he is better than me or what not, but all in all he is a horrible person and he needs a reality check.
